A WinPE environment offers excellent hardware support with a familiar Windows interface. WinPE provides network support through either a DHCP or manually configured connection, support for external FireWire or USB drives, and enables pre-mounting of network shares and driver injection for special storage controllers and network cards.
Uplifted Linux Recovery Environment. Started from HDM 14 the Linux-based recovery environment is based on SuSe 12.3 (more hardware devices supported) and includes:
Windows PE 3.1 (Windows 7 SP1 code based) implemented. It is included in Windows Automated Installation Kit (AIK) Supplement for Windows 7 SP1 and available from Microsoft's website.
Windows PE 5.0 (Windows 8.1 code based) implemented. It is included in Windows ADK (Windows Kits 8.1) and available from Microsoft's website.
New features in Hard Disk Manager 14 Professional Service Pack 1:
- Cyclic Backup to VD Wizard
- UEFI support for P2V Restore
- Merge pVHD Increments
- Check VD Integrity
- Uplifted UIM: pVHD encrypted archives are now supported
Please note that the Service Pack 1 is only available as full product version (10.1.21.471_000)
